CRK provides a number of different volunteer opportunities for people interested in helping to preserve the Chattahoochee River and its watershed through programs in education, community outreach, policy reform and legal actions. Headed up by our Outreach Director Tammy Bates, our volunteer list is nearly a thousand strong! From working all day at a festival or assisting with river clean-ups to helping out for a few hours in the office, there's something available for everyone's skill level, interest and physical ability.
In 2011 we launched our Sweep the Hooch cleanup (in partnership with Trout Unlimited and the National Park Service), in which more than 400 volunteers picked up 4 tons of trash along 48 miles of the Chattahoochee River National Recreational Area! (Watch the video here.)
Some of our more popular events include the annual River Revival in May usually at Park Tavern on the edge of Piedmont Park, the Back to the Chattahoochee River Race & Festival in June (Riverside Park in Roswell), and the Patron Dinner in September.
Check out our Calendar for upcoming events, and check out our Cleanups page for more information.
