Becca Klein

Becca Klein is Upper Chattahoochee Riverkeeper’s Development Director.  She comes to UCR from the Catawba Riverkeeper Foundation in Charlotte, NC, and is proud to continue her work within the Waterkeeper Family.

Along with her dog Frodo, Becca moved back to Atlanta, her home town, in June of 2009 from North Carolina where she lived for nine years.  Prior to working in the Riverkeeper movement, Becca worked for the Greater Carolinas Chapter of the American Red Cross, where she served as a Major Gifts Officer in their Development Department.  After obtaining her BS in Communications from Appalachian State University, she also worked for a number of non-profits in western North Carolina, including: the National Organization for Women, Linville-Central Search and Rescue Squad, and Grandfather Home for Children. Before that, she worked for two years as a reporter and news editor for High Country Media.

Becca works to identify and secure financial support from individuals, corporations and foundations to maintain and grow UCR’s financial base and enable the organization to continue to advocate for and secure protection and enhancement of the Upper Chattahoochee River, its lakes, tributaries, and watershed. In her spare time Becca volunteers with HeadCount, the Human Rights Campaign, the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta, and is also a member of the Georgia Aquarium’s New Wave Society and the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
