Don’t Wait – Cast Your Vote Before Election Day!

If you have chosen your candidates in the upcoming election, please vote in advance to reduce lines on election day and help ensure everyone’s voice is heard. Early voting began on September 22 in Georgia, and in the week before Election Day (Monday, October 27 - Friday, October 31st), most counties will have multiple voting centers and extended hours.

To find out everything you need to know about voting in advance, by mail, and on election day (Tuesday, November 4), click here. Detailed information about voting by mail or advance voting is also available from the Georgia Secretary of State Elections Division by phone at (404) 656-2871.

Constitutional Amendments on the Ballot - Vote YES on #1, NO on #3

There are two state constitutional amendments on the ballot that will have an impact on our water resources in Georgia. UCR and the Georgia Water Coalition urge you to vote yes on Amendment #1 and no on Amendment #3.

Amendment # 1 – VOTE YES! This amendment, which grew from a bi-partisan effort, will help preserve tracts of forest 200 acres or greater. In addition to the many other benefits these forest provide, preserving this greenspace is vital to keeping our waterways clean and healthy. Click here for more information.

Amendment #3 - VOTE NO! This amendment would, in essence, let counties give developers the power to tax citizens for costs incurred in development - taxes that the counties will be required to collect.
